On This Day – THE LOSS

08 Jan

I’ve just had terrible news – another one of my school friends died earlier this week. The second one within less than a year.

The rest of us who keep in touch occasionally wondered why she was avoiding us, why she never came out to play with us (even if it was only the cyber playground for most of us), why she never exchanged gossip, pictures of grandchildren or recipes.

She chose not to tell us about ALS.

And by the time when she may have wanted to share the terrible news she was unable to speak or to breathe.

This is a very Black Sunday indeed.

    Thanks, Jan.

Over the past 20 odd years I’ve lost way too many friends way too early. It’s not something you get used to.

    I appreciate your sympathy.

So sorry to hear about your schoolfriend, Mira. Sadly as we get older though, such news seems to become more prevalent, doesn’t it? My heart felt commiserations are with you, my dear.
    Best wishes
